Vegreville,  Alberta – Vegreville RCMP completed a CDSA Search Warrant in the early morning hours of Saturday, January 16 , 2021, at the area 53 avenue and 47 street, in the town of Vegreville. Vegreville RCMP officers seized approximately 14  grams of a controlled substance believed to be fentanyl and 18 grams of a controlled substance believed to be Methamphetamine.

Leon Jordan TREMBLAY, a 34-year-old male from Vegreville was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unauthorized possession of a Firearm, breach of probation and other charges. TREMBLAY has been remanded in custody where he is awaiting his next court appearance.

Lee Steven MACK, a 44-year-old male from Vegreville was charged with counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Trafficking a Controlled Substance under the CDSA,  Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unauthorized possession of a Firearm and obstruction of a police officer. MACK is scheduled to appear in Vegreville Provincial Court March 1, 2021.

A thirty eight-year-old female from Vegreville was also arrested and has charges pending for 2 counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, and Trafficking a Controlled Substance under the CDSA, as well as obstruction of a police officer. The female is scheduled to appear in Vegreville Provincial Court on March 1, 2021.

This amount of Controlled substance seized could have resulted in distribution or sales in the approximately amount of $7,000 in the community of Vegreville. The Vegreville RCMP Detachment continues to combat the trade of illegal controlled substances as part of our ongoing commitment to reduce the impact of these groups on our communities.
