Vegreville’s 47th Annual Ukrainian Pysanka Festival will be held virtually, with a variety of online activities from July 3-5.

Festival Coordinator Patricia Shewchuk said the virtual event is the next best thing to holding the regular festival, and it will give people the opportunity to participate in several different ways during the three-day event.

There will be online crafts, cooking classes, workshops, demonstrations, as well as the Yarmarok and Artists Market. Holy Trinity Church will be providing take out food services with curbside pick up, added Shewchuk.

Online orders for bread are already being placed by enthusiastic followers.

One of Canada’s most popular Ukrainian bands, Millenia, will be holding a touring concert in Vegreville on July 4.

All of those things will be offered in addition to folks being able to watch and listen to pre-recorded performances by a variety of Ukrainian performers.
