Serious Collision west of Ranfurly

Vegreville RCMP S/Sgt Terry Hyggen confirmed three vehicles were involved in a collision around 11:20 am today just west of Ranfurly.
Hyggen said one person was airlifted by STARS.
Westbound lanes are still blocked off to traffic, and a collision analyst is currently on scene, added Hyggen.
According to an official RCMP news release, “This collision is currently blocking both west bound lanes of travel on Highway 16 at Range Road 125, east of Vegreville.
Highway 16 westbound is blocked and traffic is being diverted. Motorists are asked to avoid the area and take alternate routes, if possible, well in advance of Range Road 125.
Traffic is expected to be impacted for several hours while the investigation and clean up is completed.
Injuries are reported; however, no further details are available at this time.”
